Founded in 2002, Kala-Anjali
India Culture Center exists to promote
multicultural awareness. Our goal is to strengthen the understanding of the
Kala-Anjali is dedicated to passing the traditions of India onto the future generations by offering high quality training and performances that represent India’s rich culture and heritage. Strongly rooted to tradition, Kala-Anjali’s mission is to continue building bridges between generations.
Kala-Anjali had hosted a cultural evening featuring Manipuri dance recital by Bimbavati Devi, daughter of great master Guru Bipin Singh and Kalavati Devi along with a Hindustani vocal concert by Mrs. Krishna Majumdar, disciple of Begum Parveen Sultana. The event was held in the Fall of 2004 at the North Dakota State University. Both artists were visiting from Kolkata, India. Kala-Anjali also arranged a weeklong workshop with Bimbavati Devi.
In the year 2005, Kala-Anjali had hosted a spectacular show by Abhinava Dance Company,a group of eight dancers including NIRUPAMA and RAJENDRA, visiting from Bangalore, India.
Kala-Anjali again hosted “OJAS “ by Nirupama and Rajendra in the year 2008 in the Columbus University Hall, Columbus, GA.
Kala-Anjali has already staged SIX full evening length dance productions in last 8 years Anjali, Taal, Jhalak , Panchabhuta, Chitrangada and Milan.
Kala-Anjali has actively participated in many fundraising activities and has performed for many charitable organizations. Fundraising dinner show for the tsunami victims in Sri Lanka and earthquake victims in Kashmir valley are some of them.
